Who is The Camel Soap Factory?
The Camel Soap Factory is a Dubai based manufacturer of natural skincare products handcrafted with locally sourced camel milk. Inspired by the traditions of Arabia, our products are kind to your skin and to the environment, incorporating regional ingredients that pay homage to the essence of Arabia.
Is this company based in the UAE?
Yes, we are proudly based in Dubai, UAE. We manufacture in our GMP certified factory in Dubai. Orders are shipped directly from our dispatch facility at the same location.
What products do you manufacture?

We offer a range of natural skincare products all of which are available on our parent company website thecamelsoapfactory.com. To-date we have focused on body and facial soaps, lip balms and our uniquely crafted Face Rescue Cream made with fresh camel milk and pure Omani Frankincense essential oil. We will be following this ‘face cream’ with a moisturising hand and body cream.

We strive to continuously innovate and are always exploring new ways that we can incorporate exciting regional ingredients into our product range.

Why Camel Milk?

It seems that Cleopatra was on to something with her daily ritual of bathing in camel milk. The extraordinary properties of camel milk have been known for centuries, but only recently has research supported its relevance to skin care.

As an active ingredient, the camel milk is rich in Alpha Hydroxyl Acids (AHAs), vitamins and minerals. It is particularly rich in vitamin C (which is important for tissue repair), Vitamin A, B2 and D, as well as containing high concentrations of iron, potassium, magnesium, iron, copper, manganese, sodium, zinc and selenium. See our blog on the richness of camel milk here.

Do you harm Camels?

Let be quite frank about this: We love camels!

We source our camel milk from one of two camel milk dairies in the UAE and visit often. We’re happy to report that they are some of the most pampered camels around and are very well treated.

Camels are fairly unique amongst the bovine animals. They only produce milk if they are happy and have to be kept in their own social groups, along with their calves. This is why you will not get milk from camels if they kept the same way as cows are traditionally kept.

Calves are not removed from their mother, and they are allowed to drink their fill of their mother’s milk first.

We use no part of the camel other than their fresh, pasteurised whole milk.

What do you mean by “Natural”?

We recognise that there really aren’t any purely ‘Natural’ skincare products since these simply don’t exist in nature. The FDA, USDA and EU countries don’t currently have any regulations or standards on using the term “natural”, and since there is no regulation on the “natural” term, anyone can use just one or two natural ingredients in a product and call it natural. If you see the real “natural” ingredients only at the end of a products ingredient list, it means it’s not truly natural.

When we say our skincare products are natural, it’s our way of saying that we use high quality, ingredients taken from nature (not made in a lab) and then blend them together to create a product truly derived from nature. All you have to do is read our labels and compare to other like products.

Our products contain no chemicals, no detergents, no synthetic dyes and no synthetic preservatives. When looking for a natural product, these are the key words to look out for.

What’s in your creams?

Our company name may hint at one of our unique ingredients – camel milk, which we use for its skin loving properties.

In addition to the fresh camel milk we use, we also use a range of natural oils and butters each carefully chosen for their particular skin friendly properties.

  • Olive Oil
  • Rice bran Oil
  • Shea Butter

Just as we choose our oils and butter for their abilities to nurture and protect your skin, so we choose our fragrant essential oils for their healing and protective properties too. We use pure essential oils, carefully selected and blended to care for your skin.

  • Frankincense Essential Oil
  • Sweet Orange Essential Oil

Please see our infographic on ingredients here.

Are your skincare products organic?

No, while our products are made with all-natural ingredients, they are not organic.  We prioritize high quality and ethically sourced ingredients over the hype surrounding organic products.

Are your skincare products vegan?

No, our products would not be classed as vegan due to the camel milk we add to all of our products. Other than our fresh, pasteurised camel milk, we use only plant oils and butters.

Do you test your skincare products on Animals?

No, we absolutely do not. All of our products are tested on very willing friends and family.

How often should I use The Camel Soap Factory products?

If using as a moisturiser we recommend using twice-a-day, both morning and night. We have also found it be particularly good to use when travelling to hydrate skin dried out by travel, or after sport and beach.

Is it correct that all skin care products contain preservatives?

Yes! Preservatives are necessary in order to make sure that your skincare stays at its most effective in different climates and environments. We have however, kept preservatives to a bare minimum – it is in our best interest to ensure the efficacy of our product and also ensure that furry bacteria don’t grow inside your Face Rescue Cream.

What is the shelf life of your products?

Our cream has a shelf life of 24 months. Please store your products in a cool dry place.

Can I use your products if I have a milk allergy?

We always advise caution. It’s very unlikely that you will have a reaction to the milk in our products, but we do recommend that you first try on a patch of skin (such as your arm) if you are concerned.

Milk allergies generally refer to the ingestion of cow’s milk and is closely linked to the high concentrations of β-lactoglobulin and β-casein, two powerful allergens in cow’s milk. Camel milk contains neither of these proteins and is often recommended as an alternate for those who do suffer from milk allergies.

What if I have other allergies?

Allergies come in a wide range of forms. Some people are sensitive to a variety of oils and/or essential oils. If you have had problems with other skin care products in the past, you should be careful of any product you use in the future.

Our creams are not tested to be hypoallergenic. If you are not sure, we recommend that you first try an unscented option on a limited skin area (such as your arm). If you do have any form of reaction, please take a photo and contact us if you require a refund. Do not continue using the product.

I have sensitive skin, is the cream safe to use?
Yes! Our cream is made with natural oils that we have selected for their skin loving properties. Our natural cream contains no unnecessary additives or chemicals.

We would advise some common-sense precautions: –
If you are concerned about sensitivity, we recommend that you test the cream on a small area of your skin before you use it on your face.

If you are allergic to any of our ingredients or have an adverse reaction to any of our products, please immediately stop using the product.

Are your creams safe for children and babies?
Our cream is mild and gentle and can be used on younger skins and has been successfully used on the sensitive skins of babies for nappy rash.
What if I have an allergic reaction from using the products?
We will be happy to refund you as long as you provide us photos of your reaction. If you have known skin allergies, we suggest consulting your GP or testing the product on a small patch of skin either on the inside of your elbow or behind your ear. AED30 for shipping costs will be deducted from all refunds.
I have eczema / rosacea - is the cream suitable for me?
We have had wonderful feedback from customers saying how effective the cream has been at dealing with skin problems such as eczema and rosacea.

Our products do not contain any ingredients that might trigger eczema or rosacea, but everyone is different, and each skin reacts differently to certain skin care products. Therefore, it is best to check with your GP if you have any major concerns!
